While Republican Ted Cruz trots around the country pretending that he’s disproving global warming, the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans are quietly getting warmer all the time. Because, you know, science.
March 2015 was the warmest March on record, and the first quarter of 2015 was the warmest first quarter on record.
(When I first blogged about January 2015 and February 2015, they were each touted as the “second-warmest” on record, but now new tallies have come in. Each of the first three months of 2015 is now listed as a record setter.)
In fact, the 12 months immediately preceding this one, are the warmest 12 month period on record.
What’s your excuse for denying anthropogenic global warming? I found 14 of them and debunked them.
Addendum, 2015.05.09: (From CNN) “The expanse of Arctic sea ice shrunk to an absolute low for any March on record… On the other end of the globe — in the Antarctic — sea ice has been on the gain, and this year, it hit a record March high. But globally, the overall result is a big net loss. ‘The upward trend in the Antarctic… is only about a third of the magnitude of the rapid loss of sea ice in the Arctic Ocean’, according to NASA.”
