The year began quietly enough. I picked up some groceries in the morning. In the afternoon, we all went to Burlington Coat Factory so MF could get a new purse and wallet. All of us had a good time. Throughout the day, I left yesterday’s sofa fort in place, and RLF played on it a[...]

Rebecca woke me at 6:15 a.m. I don’t know how long she’d been awake. She had a banana and milk and then cried and fussed for an hour. I finally sent her to bed and she slept for another hour or so. When she did get back up, she had a bowl of Cheerios and[...]

Being with Rebecca was like a dream. She was in a good mood the entire day, napped late (she wasn’t going to nap, but fell asleep as soon as I rocked her), talked more, played hard, communicated… Watched Super Bowl XLVI.

As usual with big football games, my wife and I made predictions for the final score prior to the kickoff of the BCS National Championship. Hers: Auburn 37, Oregon 23 Mine: Auburn 27, Oregon 21 Actual: Auburn 22, Oregon 19 So, in a rare occurrence, my prediction was closer. :-)

So much of our last four weeks has been devoted to Rebecca’s stay in the NICU and her progress (see her web page) that I haven’t mentioned much about our lives here at home. Though we’ve visited our daughter in Temple at least once each day since her birth (and twice a day all this[...]

As many of you know, I’ve been working my way through old photos, deleting most of the bad stuff and uploading the rest to my Flickr account . Recently, I finished 2006, which was an interesting year for me as a person and as a photographer. It was the year I got married (in a[...]

[image removed] Kodi Morrison, pictured here as a Varnum H.S. sophomore, aims a three-pointer during her final game of 2007, a loss to Eagletown in the Area Tournament. Watching the OU v. Kentucky women’s game tonight was a pleasure. Kentucky burst out to a 8-0 lead and was up 15-2 before the Sooners really got[...]

After a very long seven days, the Mercury Sable LS is back in our possession again. (For those who don’t know, the Sable was stolen in December, returned to us more than a month later, fixed up, and sent in to be re-keyed at a local Ford dealership.) The dealer’s (Automax Ford of Killeen) service[...]

Since my recent post End of an Era, I’ve actually continued to work (part-time) at my old job. With the new Sports Editor in place, I’m not worrying about sports anymore, except to offer advice or answer her questions (and I can jump in and help fill a page if necessary). But I’ve been instead[...]
