Pumpkin Posers RnB do their annual pose in front of a pile of pumpkins. Why this is a “thing”, I’ll never know. But it is. And we’ve done it seven years in a row. (Copyright © 2017 by Wil C. Fry. Some rights reserved.)   We did it again. For the seventh autumn in a[…]

Third Annual Galveston Vacation

The Four Of Us A helpful passerby made this photo of all four of us at Fort San Jacinto Historic Point on Galveston’s northeastern end. From this spot, one can watch massive ships going to and from the ports of both Galveston and Houston, or fish, or just enjoy the gentle breezes off the Gulf[…]

Day Trip: Colorado Bend State Park (2016.04.14)

The author, sitting atop a boulder near Gorman Falls (Image by a nice lady I met on the trail.)   I got that restless feeling again — the urge to travel, to see new things, to walk in a wilderness. The least expensive way to satisfy that thirst is to visit a state park, so[…]

RnB ready to party (Copyright © 2016 by Wil C. Fry.) Saturday, 2016.02.06, the four of us drove to Austin, Texas, for the birthday party of Carmelite, the daughter of one of my wife’s coworkers. The entire day was fun for us. Following are a few brief observations. • The trip itself was an hour[…]

We’re back from our vacation trip to Galveston, Texas. I’m working on formatting and uploading photos, and working up my usual trip-summary blog entry. After that will be a catch-all “since we’ve been back” entry. Stay tuned. Those of you who follow me on Flickr can see the images as I upload them.

Six days in one entry: M’s vacation, weather, swimming!, making friends, crying for no reason, anniversary, birthday in Watauga

2014.12.22-24: Xmas Trip (UPDATED)

For a slightly early Christmas, we went to Oklahoma to see my family, and had a wonderful trip — both the visiting and the actual traveling. Plans sprouted up for this trip during our Nov. 11 visit to my brother’s house, when my mother asked about Thanksgiving plans. Not everyone could come for Thanksgiving, but[…]

2014.11.11.TU: Day Trip to Watauga

(Sorry no photos for the past several days. They’re on Flickr, but I’ve been prioritizing my time and haven’t posted any here. Hopefully I’ll do that later today. It’s probably not a big issue since most of my family was on the road this weekend for my Uncle Gary’s memorial service in South Texas.) For[…]

2014.08.20-22: Dad’s 70th Birthday Trip

In 47 hours, we drove nearly 800 miles, attended two birthday parties, went swimming, toured two houses, reconnected with nearly 30 people, met one new person, made over 200 photos, and slept a little bit too. Here’s the story, as brief as I know how. (Images will follow in a later entry, I assume.)

This is a list of all the travel times for our Killeen-to-Seminole-County runs, including links to the relevant blog entries. I’ll update it each time we make a trip to and from Killeen (Texas) and Seminole County (Oklahoma).
