Took the kids to a birthday party in the afternoon, for the child of two of my wife’s coworkers. RnB were both shy for the first 10 minutes or so, but then opened up and mingled and explored. I enjoyed talking to the photographer there (this one); we got started talking when I noticed she[…]

Videos Caught Up

I don’t record many videos, even though my Canon 60D records high-definition video with decent sound. But when I do record them, I generally upload them to my YouTube account. They’re all listed on my website’s Video page. This blog entry is just a note to let you know I’ve caught up; all my recent[…]

June 12-13, 2012

June 12 (Tuesday): RLF’s first full meal in which she fed herself entirely by holding spoon, dipping and bringing food to her mouth. She’s been working on this much more patiently than I’d expected. (She often gets very frustrated when trying something and it doesn’t work.) Milestone charts say most kids can “use a spoon[…]

If you remember me mentioning a couple of days ago that I was going to make a DIY light shed… I did, for less than $12. I blogged about the process here, along with five images depicting the materials and process and two images taken inside the light shed to show what it’s good for.[…]

Daily Photo Challenge

In my previous entry, I mentioned I was going to try a “daily photo challenge” for March. The first day’s challenge was “your shoes”. My shoes aren’t interesting and I couldn’t think of a creative way to photograph them — at first. But I already have set forth my own challenge of photographing Rebecca every[…]

Weather: Misty, foggy, in the mid-60s all morning. Mid-70s and windy/cloudy in the afternoon. Rebecca didn’t go to sleep till after 10 p.m. last night (due to her late nap I’m guessing), but woke up at 6:30 a.m. today and fussy (which is only normal for her if she’s tired). She surprised us by going[…]

New Camera in 3 Days (and counting)

My wife said to order the camera now, instead of waiting for the IRS check to arrive. (We should be able to absorb most of the cost from our normal budget anyway.) I ordered it Wednesday afternoon; it shipped a few minutes after midnight (early Friday morning) — 33 hours after my order was placed.[…]

It’s 88°F here right now, which is six degrees hotter than the record set just four years ago. (This is after a few record lows a week ago.) Yesterday, I drove to Austin for the Austin Photo Expo (mentioned last year when I went in May). I listened to speakers Maria Bernal (website) in the[…]
