MRB enjoy the surf in the shallow waters near the beach (Copyright © 2016 by Wil C. Fry. Some rights reserved.) We enjoyed Galveston so much last year that we decided to do it again. In fact, we decided that last year, on the way home from Galveston. Early this year, when we received[…]
The last photo we took in Galveston (Copyright © 2015 by Wil C. Fry. Some rights reserved.) In the middle of M’s 17-day stretch of paid leave, we took a five-day jaunt to Galveston, having enjoyed last year’s trip to Corpus Christi Bay so much. M booked the hotel back in February when she[…]

We left the house at 8:45 a.m. or so, planning to visit my sister and her family before they headed back toward Arkansas — they’d been staying in a cabin at BLORA (Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area). I thought it was about half an hour away; it was more like 50 minutes. Still, we had[…]

In a very rare instance, my wife and I will both have birthdays this weekend. She is 28 today, and I’ll be (gulp!) 37 tomorrow. Last night, after her shift ended, we ate dinner at Bush’s Chicken, which was better than we’d expected and filled us up for $13. We toured the new Academy Sports[…]
