Feb. 19, 2013: Kia Sedona LX (& Car List)
Today, we bought a car, a 2008 Kia Sedona LX. As we always have before, we paid for it outright and don’t owe anything on it. Some photos: (Copyright © 2013 by Wil C. Fry. All rights reserved.)
(Note the title is just today’s date. If a personal web log, or “blog”, is supposed to be the online version of a journal or diary, then I don’t see the need for titles. I just came to this realization recently, and writing titles is the hardest part of blogging for me.) Rebecca is doing[...]
Random notes from the past few days: I replaced two tires on my car (both rear tires have been in place since we purchased the Mercury in 2007). One had developed a slow leak, and the tread was wearing thin on both of them. My wife is still trying to get back into the habit[...]
My wife and I arrived safely home this evening after a quick three-day trip to Oklahoma. We left early on Friday morning, as soon as her all-night shift ended. After working a 10-hour overnight shift, my wife bravely and skillfully drove her Buick for six hours, while I followed in the Dodge. We arrived there[...]
As mentioned in my last post, my wife got a couple of V-day presents early. But we still celebrated on the actual 14th of February. In the afternoon, we saw the movie “Valentine’s Day” (see my review), and then waited in line 70 minutes for a table at Red Lobster. They’d said it would be[...]

As you know from my last entry, we got our Mercury back, albeit with some problems. The battery was replaced yesterday (before we could even get it home). Today, we took care of most of the rest. I’m a slow waker, so my wife went grocery shopping in the Buick while I drank coffee and[...]
First of all, my thoughts & prayers are with my Oklahoma friends/family who’ve lost power this evening. I know my sister’s electricity went off during the ice storm about 5 p.m., and so I assume my parents’ and grandparents’ are out as well (same grid). I can’t wait to hear that you’ve made it safely[...]
Sorry I haven’t blogged in a few days. The main thing you need to know about the past few days is that we bought a car. Yesterday, we paid cash for a 2003 Dodge Neon SE with 42,800 miles. (Compared to dozens of others we’ve found for sale, we got a very good price.) It’s[...]
