[image removed] Kodi Morrison, pictured here as a Varnum H.S. sophomore, aims a three-pointer during her final game of 2007, a loss to Eagletown in the Area Tournament. Watching the OU v. Kentucky women’s game tonight was a pleasure. Kentucky burst out to a 8-0 lead and was up 15-2 before the Sooners really got[...]

Here’s my new blog entry, especially for Richard, who was wondering where I’d gone. Last week, I spent nearly every waking moment at the Seminole State College field house, covering all 30 games of the Little River Conference Basketball Tournament (Varnum won the girls’ bracket; Earlsboro won the boys’ bracket — no surprise on either[...]

Hope everyone is having a Happy Thanksgiving! Though I haven’t blogged in a while, things have been happening. At work, I’ve switched fully from football season to basketball season. This year it was a little easier, since all my local football teams that made the playoffs went down in the first round. So, the transition[...]

Has It Been That Long?

Yes, I guess it HAS been that long. Nearly a month since my last post. For a veritable diary of what I’ve been doing lately, check my web page Recent Photoshoots. While the football season continues, the high school softball season is almost wrapped up. In fact, the softball season would have wrapped up Saturday[...]

The snowstorm that was predicted for this past weekend never actually happened for Seminole, which was something of a blessing after all the ice and sleet of the previous weekend. Of course, I LOVE winter weather, but I couldn’t stand all the cancellations of basketball games. I was going through withdrawals until Saturday, when I[...]

Thanks again to everyone who left comments on my latest post (Holiday Quiz). That was fun. I’ve just finished perhaps the busiest week of my year, with full coverage of the 2006 Little River Conference high school basketball tournament. (That link will take you to My Flickr site, to all the photos I’ve uploaded so[...]

Wow. My sports season is about to kick off full blast. There’s no busier time for a sports photographer/writer in Seminole County than during high school basketball season. Up until last week, only four schools have been playing basketball: Varnum, New Lima, Strother, and Butner.

My computer says it’s now March 12, the early morning hours. Which means I’ll soon be waking up and getting on a jet plane. Leaving, like the song says. And in about 18 hours, I’ll be stepping off the sky vehicle and into the arms of my darling Marline. If there’s a better way to[...]

(Copyright © 2006 by Wil C. Fry. All rights reserved.) The first round of Oklahoma’s Class 2A State Basketball Tournament is over. Wewoka beat Oklahoma Bible Academy, 64-59 (should’ve been 65, but one long three-point shot was counted as only two points for some reason). I’ve uploaded about a dozen pics to My Flickr.

The Konawa Lady Tigers lost yesterday evening (Saturday), and thus were eliminated from the playoffs. They were the last Seminole County girls’ team left alive in the playoffs. So now, only one team remains — The Wewoka Tigers. Last night, they beat Latta in a rematch (last time, Latta won by one point in a[...]
