After a nice two-week respite, we hit 100°F again today, our 32nd time this year. (By this time last year, we’d had 69 such days.) I finished the four rear rails for my garage shelves and painted over the lines I’d drawn on the walls to mark studs, etc. (2 images after the jump)

Rebecca ran for the first time today (the technical difference between walking fast and running is that when you run both feet are off the ground at the same time). She was racing with two boys down the sidewalk — one of them is four and one is three.
The last few nights, it’s been cooler outside than inside — something we’ve never experienced in August since moving to Killeen. One morning it was 70°F when I woke up — darn near jacket weather.

After a cooler than average spring, yesterday was the hottest day of the year (high: 92°F) until today’s record high of 96°F. Had a pretty good day with Rebecca (scroll down for photos).
