“Wee, wee, wee” means “wiggle, wiggle, wiggle” in Rebecca’s language. She learned it from a song on TV. Which brings me to an interesting discussion point: Whether TV actually “rots the brain” as so many used to say when I was a kid.

Today, I taught Rebecca “A, B”, the first two letters of the alphabet. She says it “aybee!” Mommy didn’t believe me until I told Rebecca to tell her… and she did. :-) That’s a cool feeling. (1 image after the jump)
March 29, 2012: Changes
Sorry for the really short posts the last few days. We’ve been dealing with Rebecca (aren’t we always?) and the changes in her life. Some kids make all their changes gradually, kind of oozing from one stage in life to another… Rebecca seems to do most them suddenly. (3 images after the jump)

Light rain, 65-75 degrees all day. Mall-shopping, got “Dora the Explorer” bath toys for Rebecca, who suddenly learned the word “Dora” today, apparently recognizing the character from the TV show.

Sorry nothing written yesterday. Rebecca in foul mood on and off. (We had a “40% day”.) Today: mowed, vacuumed, ate Ryan’s for lunch (buffet), walk, saw more bluebonnets, leftover fried rice for supper. Drove to Sonic for a shake. Weather: perfect. low 60s, high 70s, partly cloudy.

Weather: 45°F this morning, 81°F this afternoon. So it IS going to warm up after all… Rebecca screamed a bunch in the night. I think I got four hours of sleep; my wife got maybe three. Can’t tell if it’s teething pains or something else. Remember, she was sleeping through the night at 6 months[...]

First Bug Bites
At 17 months and 10 days old, Rebecca got the first bug bites of her life — from fire ants at the playground. We were about ready to head home, when we noticed she suddenly got quiet and was standing very still. But she was wringing her hands.
