She Just Walked!
Rebecca just walked. A few minutes ago, she walked from the love seat to the TV — a distance of about 4.5 feet. She was confident enough to stop halfway there, turn and grin at me, and then keep going.

Rebecca has figured out the child safety locks.
Rebecca took her first steps yesterday (Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011). Of all a baby’s milestones, some are much bigger than others. This is one of the top two or three in a parent’s mind. (One image after the jump)

Since Monday, we’ve been seeing unseasonably cool temperatures, even setting record lows at night. Though it’s been 90°F or higher in the afternoons, it still feels cool and breezy after the searing summer heat wave. The weather forecasters were dead wrong about the chance of rain this weekend, and quickly changed “40% chance of rain” to “no chance of rain”, as I expected. But so far they were right about cooler temperatures.
Since returning from our trip to Odessa (blog entry; photos), life has returned to normal, whatever that means.
