It rained nearly all day today; just a short break in the afternoon. This is wonderful. Why? First, because I’ve always loved the rain. Second, because we’ve been in one of the worst droughts since the 1920s and ’30s. This nice, steady rain is soaking into the ground quickly. I imagine that the next time[...]

According to THIS STORY on USAtoday.com, President Bush has ordered an investigation into possible “price gouging” in the gasoline/oil industry. Several other news stories this evening quote various Republican leaders as saying they’re jumping on the bandwagon too. One solution they came up with: Give the Federal Trade Commission the power to enforce price gouging[...]

I’m also getting more views from Maryland than anywhere else. Same person. Is that you, Joe? I know you’re out there. LOL. ___________________ EDIT: Mystery solved. It wasn’t my good friend “Big Joe” from D.C. It was Cassie’s friend Carol. Good to know you, Carol, and I’m glad you enjoyed the sites. I had just[...]

Here are some news items I came across today on the web. Pyramid found in Bosnia Washington Post It’s larger than the Egyptian pyramids, researchers say. And there are apparently three of them, all connected by tunnels. I say it took a little too long for area residents to notice that the hill was geometrically[...]

Thanks, everyone, for your comments on my last entry. That was a pretty heartfelt one, I think. Thursday afternoon, I covered four (count ‘em) softball games in our county, and got some of my best pics so far (in my humble opinion). Seeing how softball and baseball aren’t my favorite sports, and I know less[...]

Half the reason I keep this blog is just because I can write what I want to instead of what I have to. Here, I can talk about any subject (for the most part) and order the words the way I want. It just finally sank in to me that I was hired as a[...]
