I typed in old journals, watched the “Matrix” on video — on my NEW TV! Then I went to Shawnee & watched “The Champion” (starring Carman) at the theater. I picked up a hitch-hiker on the way there. He seemed a little unbalanced, mentally, but gave me two packs of cigarettes & didn’t cause any[…]

[An unexplained break in dating precedes this entry*] I bought a car — 1993 Chevy Corsica — in January, and then moved into a new apartment in Seminole in February. It was a busy time, and apparently, I did not record much of it. I continued to work at Wrangler.

weather: drizzling, cool. Work: early machine trouble. Henry, the mechanic, didn’t think anything was wrong with my machine so he brought Gilbert to me & they lectured me, telling me not to switch machines for minor problems. I explained that I am just trying to make money & that I can’t go fast enough to[…]

Work: much machine trouble, but I was encouraged & soothed by last week’s pay sheet — I grossed $489. Wthr: upper 30s in the morning, some rain, upper 40s in the evening. After work: vacuumed upstairs & the stairs themselves. Moved my futon mattress away from the window — I thought perhaps the window’s draft[…]

I was on some Christian College campus, with ivy-covered buildings. After an evening chapel service, all the students were lined up outside the academic buildings, in the dark. I asked one, who said there was now a required class after evening chapel. I walked to the front of the line, amidst several protests, then I[…]

upper 30s to lower 50s, sunny, windy. Much machine trouble and “no work” at work, but I did okay. My upcoming paycheck should be well over $300, so I can easily afford a newer, larger TV & maybe a scanner as well. My hair is now long enough to cover my eyes if I don’t[…]

My one day off this week. Cool, probably in the 40s. Had scrambled eggs (4) and cinnamon toast (2 slices) and jellied toast (2 slices) for breakfast. Watched “The Firm” (VHS), then wrote a letter to Mark Hurst. Took that letter & the “thank you” notes for last week’s house-warming party to the Post Office,[…]

Work. Cooler, windy. Feeling better — sickness nearly conquered. Watched “Final Destination” (VHS). Typed a letter to Mark & converted more old files. Watched “Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels” (VHS). Ate pizza for supper. Went to bed at 00:30.

Work. Beautiful day. I took my lunch, sitting in my car, out on the parking lot. After work, I cashed my check, paid my rent, paid my P.O. Box fee, then went to Wal-Mart. There, I bought two movies, scented candles, extra flatware, a dish drainer, a cutting board, sturdy wooden hangars — for my[…]

low in the upper 30s; high in the low 70s — beautiful day! I had a “good” day at work, pay-wise, although all morning I was feeling that familiar “I’m gonna walk right out of this [place]” feeling — the all-too recognizable mood that came over me at so many jobs, for who-knows-what reason. I[…]

There was ice on my car when I left for work, but by the time I left, it was in the upper 50s & very sunny. I had leftover KFC (from Sunday) for supper, and I typed my recent poems onto disk & converted my old letters from WPT to Word (some of them). At[…]

The weather remains cool; I think we hit the upper 30s for our low this morning, and climbed into the 50s for the afternoon. Joe wasn’t at work today, so I had no distractions to speak of, until Dave Coker tore the end of his finger off with his machine. But by then, I already[…]

WEATHER: 40s & 50s; partly-to-mostly cloudy. Took Dayquil, started watching AC/DC’s “No Bull” (VHS), then MDZ & H, JLB, J2, & MWD came over for lunch, bringing KFC Chicken. We had chicken, cole slaw, beans, & biscuits, and talked. After they left, I vacuumed the place with my tiny Red Devil hand vac.

woke late. Cloudy, high in upper 50s. DREAMS: One was in some kind of old school setting — large, mysterious dorm rooms, etc. I was dating Margy (MEK) & another girl kept flirting with me, sensuously & she looked a bit like Cindy Crawford. When I resisted her last & final plea, Margy agreed to[…]

WEATHER: still in 40s & 50s; mostly sunny today. WORK: 48 bundles HEALTH: no better. I drank the last of my Nyquil last night & skipped my Dayquil today; coughing, sniffling, dry mouth, aching bones & joints & muscles. After work: I cashed my check, bought a money order for my first electric bill, checked[…]
