Earlier today, Marline and I arrived home after a six-day vacation in New England. Here’s a quick travelogue — I’ll add more details later, including links to photos — It’ll take me a while to work through them all.
Flew from Oklahoma City to Dulles Airport in Virginia. There, we switched planes and continued on to Providence, R.I., and picked up a rental car, going to Marline’s aunt’s house in Seekonk, Massachusetts. We stayed the night there.
Drove to Chester, Connecticut, to visit Marline’s friend Barbara Delaney, who lives in a historic old house. We went on to visit Gillette Castle before continuing to Connecticut College, where Marline graduated in 2003, and ran into a few of her old friends. I took a walking tour of the college, which is beautiful. We stayed the night with Mrs. Delaney.
Returned to Connecticut College and met more of Marline’s old friends, including her freshman-year roommate, Tara. Had lunch on campus. Marline and I spent the afternoon touring Mystic, Conn., and then returned to Seekonk to stay with her aunt.
Spent the bulk of the day in Boston, starting with the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. That evening, we visited Marline’s cousin Arnold, and watched Rambo at his apartment. Stayed with her aunt again.
Early Monday, we drove to Providence, where we shopped at Providence Place (a large, nice mall), and then toured a little in the downtown area. The prettiest thing there was the State House (capital building). We drove up to Brown University and took some more pictures, before heading back to Seekonk. Did some laundry, headed to bed.
