Saturday (Aug. 4): I was taking a nap on the sofa when my wife called to say she was coming home from work. The phone didn’t wake me up. Rebecca got the phone out of my pocket (she must have, because of what follows) and answered it (according to Marline). She said “Mama” and several unintelligible words while Marline told her she was coming home.
Rebecca then closed the phone to end the call (she must have, because it was closed later).
After Mommy got home and told me this story, I didn’t quite believe it. I asked Rebecca if she’d talked to Mommy on the phone. She happily picked up my phone and began pressing buttons, while Mommy went to change out of her work clothes. A few seconds later, I heard Mommy’s phone ringing. I picked it up and saw that the call was coming from my phone. I looked, and sure enough, Rebecca had called from my phone to Mommy’s phone. That was pretty exciting.
In the image above she’s hearing her own voice in full stereo, half-a-second delayed through the wonders of technology, as she talks to herself from one phone to the other.
Weather: Both days, the high was 100°F.
On Sunday evening (Aug. 5), we had Yank Sing take-out again… Rebecca ate noodles from my plate, picked up a barbecue pork rib without being asked and bit a piece off, ate a chunk of pepper steak at my suggestion, and downed an entire fortune cookie.
Note: I’ve edited my Aug. 1 entry to include a photo of the faucet handle.
Note: I’ve edited my Aug. 2 entry to includes images from the pool.
Cute picture, and amazing story.
Thanks, Shari. :-)
Great story! I’m sure the two phones were much more fun than the toy phones we played with as kids. lol
@Cassie: Definitely, she can tell the difference. We’ve been working hard to keep them out of her reach, but she’s always on the lookout for opportunities. :-)
