My wife had to work today while the rest of us had fun. In the morning, Val and I took Vicky and Rebecca to our neighborhood’s playground, where they both had fun. But it got hot very quickly. By 9:30 a.m., it was already 90°F. So we returned home.
We all changed into swimsuits and applied sunscreen, then went to the pool. It was Vicky’s first time in a swimming pool. She followed Rebecca right in, with no fear. Both girls splashed and played for more than an hour. Neither wanted to leave. I finally convinced Rebecca to leave by offering her a banana if she came home.
At home, they had baths and then ate. For the first time, Rebecca ate an entire banana — from stem to stern — and I didn’t even cut pieces for her or anything. Then she slept for two hours and 20 minutes. (Vicky’s nap was 90 minutes.) Both went down easily.
By the time Rebecca woke up, my wife was on her way home from work. The rest of the afternoon, both girls continued to play well with each other.
My wife made a great lemon chicken supper with sweet potatoes on the side.
Afterward, the girls bounced on the air mattress. Then we walked to get the mail. While they had baths, I talked to some people across the street about their new lawnmower.
Rebecca didn’t want to go down tonight, but finally did after I read the same book to her seven times.
Sounds like a fun day! Dinner sounds good too. :)
:-) Yes… This was probably the best day of the entire visit. :-)
